LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Ted Lasso’ characters bring light and optimism to the show. With their unique traits and personal journeys, the characters contribute to the heartwarming and comedic storytelling of ‘Ted Lasso’. While one such character is Nate Shelley, who evolves from a timid and unnoticed figure to a more confident and vocal presence as the series progresses. In Season 3 Episode 10, Nate is seen quitting his dream job as a manager of West Ham. The entire episode portrays his redemption arc which left the fans emotional.
‘Ted Lasso’ star Nick Mohammed, who plays Nate Shelly, shared a touching story behind a pivotal scene from Episode 10. The episode highlights Nate playing the violin as the backdrop to various important scenes simultaneously playing out. The scene was intertwined with Jamie and Roy’s touching stone to friendship and Rebecca’s emotional speech. Nate played the violin perfectly well, which left his fans wondering if he really played it while shooting this scene. To respond to his fans, Mohammed explained more detail about the making of the scene which actually involves his wife of 14 years, Becka.

‘Mirror in mirror’
After fans questioned Nate’s violin scene, he shared a Twitter post describing in detail the story behind the scene. He wrote, “OK so this ep of #TedLasso is special for lots of reasons… but mostly because it’s my *incredible* wife playing the piano to Arvo Pärt’s ‘Spiegel im Spiegel’ with me on my old violin from home! The piece was Jason’s idea: literally translates as ‘mirror in mirror.’”
Mohammed learned violin as a child and has played in his St Aidan’s College at Durham University orchestra. The music of his violin gave the perfect backdrop for Rebecca’s passionate speech while Edwin Akufo proposed the Super league. At the same time, Jamie Tartt makes his England debut with a tribute to Sam Obisanya. The scene is extremely emotional and heartwarming with special touches from Nate’s violin music. In the episode, when Nate continued his violin, his dad Lloyd walks in on him and they both have an emotional conversation focusing on their relationship when Nate was growing up. With only two more episodes left to explain the story, let’s see where it takes Nate’s fate.
‘It was beautiful’
After Mohammed shared a glimpse of the story behind the violin scene, fans showered emotions on social media and reflected on how the episode made them teary-eyed. A Twitter user wrote, “It was beautiful, had a few tears at various points in this episode………it upsets me this series is getting close to the end!” Whilst, another user added, “It was a beautiful moment.”
Moreover, a fan wrote, “It was beautiful. Thanks to you & your dear wife for sharing your music with us.
