PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Simon Cowell warns that just because something is memorable doesn't imply it's excellent. 'America's Got Talent' fans were outraged when Nightbirde was left off Simon's list of the 16 Most Memorable 'America's' and 'Britain's Got Talent' Auditions.

On July 25, 2023, 'AGT' took a break from Season 18 auditions with a special show in which Judge Simon and host Terry Crews looked back at the 16 auditions that Simon considered to be the most memorable in 'AGT' and 'BGT' history. During tonight's special episode, he reviewed his top 16 most memorable auditions, but several viewers lambasted the show for "wasting time." The famous judge relived some of his favorite auditions, including legendary performances by Susan Boyle and Archie Williams. Despite the touching moments, people rushed to Twitter to criticize the nostalgia episode.

Simon's top 16 moments

Simon has seen a lot of auditions over his extensive time on 'AGT' but some just leap to the top. Simon presented his 16 "most memorable" auditions from 'AGT' and 'BGT' on the most recent episode of Season 18, including everything from the poignant to the ridiculous. "It's sometimes talent, sometimes it’s the audience, sometimes it’s just the surprise, but, you know, I’ve got to admit, I love all that," Simon said of what makes his choices stand out from the crowd. "I think it's what makes the show."

Simon was challenged with selecting his best 15 'water cooler moments', as he termed them, but the seasoned judge could only choose 16 amazing actions. "I do think, actually, just about every one of these auditions we’re going to watch tonight, they were all water cooler moments for different reasons," he told Host Terry, who led him through what made each experience remarkable.

'A TRAVESTY IN MY OPINION'

The list of 'AGT' auditions Simon will never forget includes breathtaking dancing, farting Japanese entertainers, and more. However, fans were outraged when singer-songwriter Jane Marczewski, popularly known as "Nightbirde," who passed away on February 19, 2022, was left off the list. One fan took to Twitter to write, "I can't believe Simon Cowell didn't choose Nightbirde as one of Simon's Most Memorable Auditions." Another person chimed in, "VERY DISAPPOINTED NIGHTBIRDE DIDN’T MAKE SIMONE’S TOP 16. A TRAVESTY IN MY OPINION."

Disapproving Simon's top pick, one fan tweeted, "Severely overrated. Nightbirde was a much more deserving number 1. I disagreed with the whole list." A fan also tweeted, "Nah didn't do anything for me. Nightbirde was a more deserving number 1."

One user also questioned, "How dare you not put Nightbirde on there?! Horrible list." Another person further slammed 'AGT' as they wrote, "I don’t how you can have all those nonsense acts and not have Nightbirde."
