Andrew Tate was served legal papers by the UK law firm McCue Jury & Partners at his Romanian residence but he refused to accept them

BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Andrew Tate, the controversial influencer, was personally served a legal notice on Wednesday by lawyers based in the United Kingdom. The lawyers are representing four women who have accused him of rape and sexual assault. As per the lawyers, the legal notice expressed their intent to initiate civil legal proceedings against him in the coming weeks.

The Romanian government agency responsible for investigating Tate's alleged involvement in human trafficking has expanded its probe to include "human trafficking in continued form." This new accusation carries greater weight than the previous charges he faced. Tate's legal troubles began in December 2022 when he was arrested along with his brother on suspicion of organized crime and human trafficking.

'We have decided to take a stand and are not alone'

Tate, who is currently under house arrest on human trafficking charges, was officially served with legal papers by the law firm McCue Jury & Partners on June 14. These papers were delivered to inform Tate that, based on his response, legal proceedings against him will likely commence in the upcoming weeks. According to the law firm, the papers outline specific allegations made by the four women. The accusations involve instances of "violent" rapes and sexual assaults, as well as claims of "controlling and coercive" behavior. The incidents reportedly took place between 2013 and 2016 while Tate was residing in the UK.

Matthew Jury, Managing Partner at McCue Jury, wrote in a tweet, "Andrew Tate wouldn’t come to his door to accept service of legal papers today, hiding behind his security, instructing them to tell us to f**k off This, in contrast to the victims of his alleged crimes, who have bravely come forward to confront him Make of that what you will?"

Jury wrote in another tweet, "This is a statement issued by Andrew Tate’s spokesperson, circulated to the media and forwarded to me, in response to our service of legal papers today At best, it shows an ignorance of English law At worst, it’s intentional misinformation. Let’s clarify a few things: 1. It is not a “fact” that the decision not to prosecute was because there was “no evidence”. 2. There is evidence. A lot of it. We’ve seen it. The truth is, we don’t really know why the decision was made. 3. The decision was not made by the court. It was made by the Crown Prosecution Service. The evidence has never been before a court. 4. This is why the victims have brought their case. So a court, for the first time, can hear and consider the evidence. 5. To characterise the victims as “opportunistic” is indecent. 6. Their claims are in no way “unsubstantiated”. They are verified by independent and corroborating evidence."

Intending to reach a target of £50,000, the legal team is making efforts to secure funding and has made significant progress, approaching the halfway mark. Initially, three alleged victims started a crowdfunding campaign in April to support their legal action. Subsequently, a fourth woman joined their cause. The lawyers claimed that two of the women were employed at Tate's webcam business, while the third woman had a personal relationship with him, as per Joe UK.

One of the accusers said, "After such a long fight for justice, it feels good to finally be taking a positive step forward. While this experience has been traumatic for us, we have taken strength in the fact we have decided to take a stand and are not alone. We hope that bringing this claim will encourage other people to speak out against their abusers, no matter how powerful they are.”

'Real men are protectors, not oppressors'

Despite Tate denying all the allegations and asserting that the women are motivated by personal vendettas against him, a significant number of social media users have voiced their support for the victims. One user wrote, "🔥 Misogyny has no place in a civilized world! Real men are protectors, not oppressors. Real men don’t need to treat women as slaves to feel masculine." Another user wrote, "One of the most disgusting "influencer" on this planet. His followers has never read an entire book in their life!" "And yet, Andrew Tate still has a Twitter account. Disgraceful, @elonmusk @lindayacc This is what we're talking about @Jack . This is who you think should run @Twitter," stated one.
