Barcelona could be barred from entering the 2023/24 Champions League in the next few weeks with UEFA set to announce the results of their independent investigation into Casa Negreira.

Barcelona will learn in the coming weeks if they will be barred from entering the 2023/24 Champions League.

UEFA are currently carrying out an independent investigation into Casa Negreira, with Barca alleged to have made payments for information and analysis of match officials.

It has been suggested that these payments could be construed as match-fixing, forcing UEFA to look into the matter themselves.

Spanish prosecutors are slated to begin court proceedings against Barcelona soon but a date has not yet been confirmed.

UEFA recently sent a questionnaire of 70 queries to Barcelona in order to understand more about the case and help come to a decision over whether they should be banned from European competition.

Though UEFA are within their rights to exclude clubs without the need of legal corroboration, reports from Spain earlier this year claimed that Barca threatened to sue for damages if they were banned from entering the Champions League.

MARCA now report that Barcelona are expected to learn of UEFA's verdict in the first two weeks of July.

Barca are due to enter the Champions League at the group stage and in pot one after winning La Liga at a canter.

MARCA add that Juventus, who are under investigation for financial irregularities, are likely to be excluded from next season's Europa Conference League. The Bianconeri were deducted 10 points in Serie A for the 2022/23 campaign, seeing them drop from fourth to seventh in the final standings.

Osasuna are also waiting to learn the verdict of an appeal against their own Europa Conference League ban due to a match-fixing scandal from 2013 to 2014.
