The Miami Heat upset the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and it was a high-scoring game, a great sign for bettors looking to take the OVER in the prop market on any offensive stat.
These teams are No. 2 and No. 3 in offensive rating in the playoffs, so how should we approach the prop market in Game 2?
Here are my three favorite plays, including a pick for guard Kyle Lowry:
Heat vs. Celtics best NBA prop bets for Game 2
- Rob Williams OVER 15.5 Points and Rebounds
- Kyle Lowry OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made
- Bam Adebayo OVER 8.5 Rebounds
Rob Williams OVER 15.5 Points and Rebounds
Since entering the starting lineup in Game 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers, Robert Williams III has been great for Boston.
Here are his points and rebounds numbers in those three games:
- Game 6 vs. Philly: 10 points, 9 rebounds
- Game 7 vs. Philly: 6 points, 5 rebounds
- Game 1 vs. Miami: 14 points, 7 rebounds
Williams got plenty of easy looks in Game 1, shooting 6-for-6 from the field against Miami. If he scores like that again he's a lock to clear this line.
Kyle Lowry OVER 1.5 3-Pointers Made
Kyle Lowry is undervalued in this prop with Miami quietly extending his minutes closer to the low 30s in the playoffs.
Lowry has made multiple shots from beyond the arc in four of his last five and six of his last eight games, taking 3.9 shots from beyond the arc per game.
I'd love to see a little more usage, but the Heat need Lowry to score if they want a chance to win Game 2, so I wouldn't be shocked if he takes closer to 4-5 shots from deep on Friday night.
Bam Adebayo OVER 8.5 Rebounds
Bam Adebayo grabbed eight boards in Game 1, making it the 10th straight game where he's grabbed at least eight rebounds.
In fact, the Heat big man has eight or more boards in 11 of his 12 playoff games this season. That's huge because it gives him a great floor in this prop since eight has been his baseline for the entire playoffs.
I'll take a shot on him to come up with one more rebound in Game 2.
