LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Legendary host Bob Barker reportedly died of Alzheimer's disease. He died at his home in Los Angeles, California on August 26 at the age of 99.

Speaking to ET, Barker's girlfriend Nancy Burnet said, "Up until several months before his passing, Bob Barker routinely participated in conversation and bedside exercises."

Announcing the death of Barker in August 2023, his longtime publicist Roger Neal stated, "It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World's Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker, has left us."

Why will Bob Barker have no funeral service?

Publicist Neal revealed that according to the 'Price is Right' host's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service held in Bob Barker's honor.

The TV personality will be laid to rest next to his late wife Dorothy Jo Gideon at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery located in the Hollywood Hills.

Gideon who died in 1981 was married to Barker in 1954. The host told People in 1999 that he would "never marry again" and dearly remembered her saying "Dorothy Jo was the love of my life."

How long did Bob Barker and Nancy Burnet date?

In an interview with ET, Barker's publicist praised the Emmy winner's longtime partner Burnet for how she took care of him in his final years.

"I can't stress enough the great care that Nancy took of him. It was round-the-clock," said Neal. The duo were together for over 40 years.

"The fact that he got to stay in his home -- the same house since the 1950s -- to be able to live there his whole adult life and be able to be at home when he passed, I think it was very fortunate," he added.

"The last five years of his life she was completely devoted to making sure that his healthcare, that his care on a daily, round-the-clock basis, was the top."

"In my opinion, [Nancy] is a saint for having done that. I don't think anybody could have done the job she's done. I think she was the absolute best person to take care of him," Neal stated.

Reacting to Barker's death, Burnet released a statement to ET that read, "I am so proud of the trailblazing work Barker and I did together to expose the cruelty to animals in the entertainment industry and including working to improve the plight of abused and exploited animals in the United States and internationally."
