Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones reportedly signed an ironclad prenup before they got married in 2000

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prenups are no longer considered taboo and many famous couples are OK with signing one, including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. The couple got married in November 2000. Prior to Jones, Douglas was married to Diandra Luker for more than 20 years. During their divorce, he was required to give up their Santa Barbara property as well as about $45M, according to Harper's Bazaar.

This was years ago, and the couple seem to be stronger than ever. In fact, Jones recently shared an Instagram video of the two playing golf. Douglas was behind the camera as Jones sets up her shot before dancing to celebrate a successful shot. Douglas was heard asking her, "How was that honey?" Jones responds, "What do you think?"

Speaking about their prenup, Douglas and Jones meticulously made an agreement before their wedding, and the procedure wasn't easy, according to The Guardian. It was reported that Luker demanded more than $3.7M for each year of their marriage as well as a home of her own. Jones was reportedly well-protected by the deal they reached, even though Douglas reportedly resisted at first, as per reports.

Catherine Zeta-Jones gets $5M if Michael Douglas cheats

According to The Daily News, Jones will get $5M in addition to $2.8M for each year of their marriage if Douglas cheated and the couple divorced. Douglas' net worth is $350M, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

'I think prenups are brilliant'

Speaking to Vanity Fair in 2000, Jones felt that signing a prenup was fair to Douglas. She said, "I think prenups are brilliant. If I were marrying someone of lesser fortune who was 25 years younger, I'd be doing exactly the same thing. Why should Michael be in a position where half of his fortune, which he's worked bloody hard for, should land in someone else's lap?"
