College football recruiting: Florida State makes five-star statement

As the college football landscape shifts, Florida State may have their own moving to do if the ACC doesn't present a more attractive financial package soon. Nothing would help the Seminoles cash in more than their football brand being back on top.

Climbing that mountain always begins on the recruiting trail and FSU made a statement over the weekend with the commitment of five-star safety KJ Bolden.

"Why not bring your dream school back to the top," Bolden told ON3's Hayes Fawcett.

Bolden chose Florida State over SEC heavy hitters like Georgia, Alabama and Auburn. And it's no wonder so many big schools were after him. He ranks No. 7 nationally in the 247Sports composite and No. 1 among safeties.

The Seminoles now boast three five-star commits and four of the Top 50 players in the class of 2024 including cornerback Charles Lester III, tight end Landen Thomas and running back Kameron Davis.

Florida still ranks ahead of Florida State but the Seminoles are within striking distance of the No. 3 class.

College football recruiting: Georgia running back haul gets even better with Nate Frazier

The rich keep getting richer.

Georgia already has the No. 1 class in the country and they only got better with one of the best running backs in the class committing.

Nate Frazier made it official on Sunday, pleading to the Bulldogs to give them a formidable haul of running backs in 2024. He joins downhill bruiser Chauncey Bowens and four-star athlete Dwight Phillips Jr.

Frazier ranks No. 51 overall and No. 4 among running backs in the 247Sports composite. However, Rivals has the 5-foot-11, 205-pound speedster as the No. 1 all-purpose back in the country.

Bowens talked up the lawfirm of Frazier, Bowens and Phillips to On3 saying, "I think we can be the next Sony, Gurley and Chubb and rewrite the RBU Mount Rushmore."

That'll be music to the ears of Georgia fans hoping to see the dynasty roll over the competition for years to come.

College football recruiting: Auburn on a flipping heater

Hugh Freeze has a tough task at hand trying to whip Auburn back into competitive shape after some lackluster and turbulent years. Winning on the recruiting trail is one path back and the Tigers are doing just that in recent weeks.

Auburn had less than a handful of commits for 2024 at the start of the summer, but things have picked up quickly. Now the Tigers are on a hot streak.

Five-star wide receiver Perry Thompson and athlete Demarcus Riddick are the gems of the class, both flipping to Auburn from rivals at the end of July. Thompson, the No. 2 player at his position, was an Alabama commit who changed sides in a major coup for wide receivers coach Marcus Davis. Riddick, who projects as a linebacker but is just an all-around athletic stud, was committed to Georgia before choosing the Tigers instead.

Thompson and Riddick anchor the class, but a slew of other commitments have jumped on board over the last month. Auburn have landed eight in total since the start of July including four-star cornerbacks Jalyn Crawford and A'Mon Lane.

August got off to a strong start on Saturday with four-star Jalewis Solomon further bolstering the cornerback class.
