Fans wonder if Michael Strahan is intentionally skipping a day or two from the ‘GMA’ studio for 'The $100,000 Pyramid'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Michael Strahan seems to have made a habit of missing ‘Good Morning America’ without any due notice to fans and viewers. Strahan, 51, was once again missing from the action in the studio with viewers second-guessing his whereabouts. Although the ex-NFL star returned to the ‘GMA’ studio for Monday, July 17 broadcast alongside regular hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts, his absence was still a mystery.

Strahan’s unexpected absence from ‘GMA’ might be credited to his other commitment as a host. The ‘GMA’ anchor currently hosts season six of ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ which airs every Sunday on ABC. Given his prior commitment to the morning show, Strahan needs more time to prepare for his role as the host of the game show. This begs the question of whether Strahan is intentionally skipping a day or two from the ‘GMA’ studio for 'The $100,000 Pyramid.’

Is Michael Strahan missing ‘GMA’ for ‘The $100,000 Pyramid’?

‘The $100,000 Pyramid’ returned with new episodes on July 9, 2023, on ABC with Strahan leading the show as a host. The show is a timeless word association game in which two celebrities and their partners face off in a race against the clock to make it to the winners' circle and take home $100,000. The show usually airs on Sundays and Strahan works five days a week for ‘GMA.’ This usually gives a lesser amount of time for Strahan to prepare for the weekends when the game show airs.

The 51-year-old ‘GMA’ star’s abrupt absence during the week can lead one to believe that Strahan is preparing for his hosting duties of the game show if any personal news doesn’t need attending to. Strahan was appointed as the host of 'The $100,000 Pyramid’ after much deliberation and given his sincerity, the ‘GMA’ star can juggle and deliver on both projects. Although, Roberts was also missing from the ‘GMA’ studio along with Strahan last week and the reason is still not ascertained.

Michael Strahan reports on grim news after return to ‘GMA’ studio

Strahan and Roberts returned to the morning studio with no explanation about their respective absences. They were joined by Stephanopoulos at the desk. Strahan went right down to business and reported a piece of serious news about a murder suspect. He said, “New details emerged about how police finally tracked down a murder suspect, who broke out of a jail in Pennsylvania, and was on the run for more than a week.” He then introduced Alex Presha, who was in Columbus, Ohio, and reported more on the story. However, in the absence of Roberts and Strahan from the ‘GMA’ studio, Juju Chang and Rebecca Jarvis filled in for both of them respectively.
