It’s official: Prime Day 2023 is scheduled for July 11-12, so get those wishlists ready.

Prime "Day" starts at 3 a.m. EST on July 11 and ends July 13 at 2:59pm EST, “with new deals dropping every 30 minutes," Amazon says. The retail giant will be slashing prices on its own Amazon-branded products as well as popular brands like Samsung, Apple, Sony, Acer, Shark, Lenovo, and more.

From prior experience, we expect the most enticing deals to be revealed on the first day of the sale, with lesser deals following on day two. There are also usually some early deals leading up to the sale days, which we’re actively pursuing in order to find you the best value for your hard-earned dollar. Those with an Amazon Alexa can also ask their smart assistant for deal alerts and event reminders, so you won’t miss out on any of the action.

Speaking of value: Prime members get access to deals early as well as additional discounts on products that are already marked down. It costs $14.99/month (plus tax) and includes free 2-day delivery, access to Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video, Prime Gaming exclusive in-game content, the Prime Try Before You Buy feature, and more. If you don’t already have a subscription, Amazon offers new customers a free 30-day trial.

Prime Day Tips From Our Experts

Some of our editors have been chasing down Prime Day deals since the event's inception, and we have a few tips for shoppers to save time and money:

  • Officially, Prime Day starts at 3 a.m. ET on July 11, but we expect to also see deals in the lead-up to the big event. We recommend checking back multiple times throughout the day for new offers.

  • Create a wish list of products you're interested in now and check back on Prime Day to see they're discounted. If not, check the category space to see if a different brand is discounted.

  • Use the Prime Day Search Bar to filter for items that are discounted this Prime Day. Just replace the "laptop" with the item or brand you are looking for. You can narrow down your search even further by filtering by department and category on the left-hand rail.

  • Not every discount will require a Prime membership. If you decide not to opt in for a Prime membership, there will be discounts throughout the two days on many brands.

  • Walmart, Best Buy, and Target have all announced competing sales during the week of July 10, so be sure to compare prices across all three sites if you have a big-ticket item in your cart.
