Elden Ring received a patch Wednesday to fix a bug that let Malenia, Blade of Miquella heal more often than she was originally meant to.
According to patch notes from Bandai Namco, this latest update "fixed a bug with Malenia, Blade of Miquella in which her HP was not healed correctly in the online multiplayer environment."
The Malenia fight was already widely regarded as one of the hardest fights in the entire Souls-like series, let alone Elden Ring. Not only did she wield an incredibly dangerous sword with massive range and seemingly never-ending attack combos, she could also heal herself occasionally, extending the fight and testing players' endurance.
After the application of Elden Ring Update 1.04, players quickly noticed Malenia was healing more often than usual. Even folk hero Let Me Solo Her, famously an expert on the fight, admitted to having trouble with the post-patch version of Malenia.
Wednesday's patch should bring Malenia back from impossible to merely arduous. Here are the rest of the changes in the patch:

- Fixed a bug that prevented the boss "Elden Beast" from working properly under certain circumstances

Players on the latest update should see App Ver. 1.04.1 and Regulation Ver. 1.04.2 in the lower right corner of their title screen.
