The post from the user of the X platform included a video of MrBeast celebrating surpassing one billion subscribers on YouTube

GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: On Sunday, September 3, a tweet from an X (formerly Twitter) user went viral, with the claim that Jimmy Donaldson aka MrBeast had amassed one billion subscribers on YouTube. "MrBeast just hit 1b subscribers on YouTube," read the post.

Readers should be aware that the accompanying video in the post has been tweaked and that the social media update is false. In the said video, MrBeast was seen celebrating his one billion subscribers, and as of now, the post has over 4.2 million views.

How many YouTube subscribers does MrBeast have?

The YouTube king currently has 181 million subscribers on his "MrBeast" channel, making the post on X (formerly Twitter) fake.

Moreover, the post had community annotations explaining that MrBeast's channel did not actually have one billion subscribers, and it read, "This is false. MrBeast has 180m subscribers on YouTube as of September 3rd, 2023."

Naturally, the X (formerly Twitter) post went viral, with other users commenting on it, stating the truth.

A user wrote, "waiting for community notes to cook ur a**," while another said, "Why my dumba** really go and check his youtube channel."

One more stated, "Mood after noticing I fell for this by checking his YouTube," attaching an image of a sad person.

Even the original poster later replied, "I’m very sorry I was unfortunately clickbaited into believing this," to the video.

MrBeast surpassed PewDiePie as the most subscribed individual YouTube creator

PewDiePie, who held the title of the most subscribed individual creator on YouTube, was defeated by MrBeast as the latter gained 112 million subscribers on November 14, 2022.

PewDiePie currently has 111 million subscribers on YouTube, as compared to MrBeast's 181 million.

While MrBeast's most popular video is "$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!" with over 133 million views, for PewDiePie it's "LEVEL 7 | I’M NOT CRAZY (OUTLAST IRL GAMEPLAY)" from the Scare PewDiePie series that has over 133 million views.

MrBeast's antics and extravagant videos definitely pushed him to have the most subscribers, but people still seem to like PewDiePie for his slow-paced commentary or reaction videos.
