NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took over ‘Hannity Special’ after Donald Trump was arrested in Fulton County Jail, and had a mug shot taken, which made its rounds on all social media platforms.

Hannity made it abundantly clear on Fox News, as well as X, formerly known as Twitter, that according to him, this is the “weaponization of justice in America.”

On ‘Hannity Special’ the Fox News anchor also compared Trump to Joe Biden and Former United States Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

Hannity also took to X to share a clip of his segment from ‘Hannity Special’ for which he received severe backlash from the internet, who accused Hannity, as well as Fox News of “lying.”

Sean Hannity rushes to Donald Trump’s defense

Sean Hannity began his segment on ‘Hannity Special’ by introducing his topic surrounding former president Donald Trump.

He said, “The weaponization of justice in America. Now, the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump, is probably the most recognized person on the face of the earth but last night, Fulton County Georgia officials insisted that the former president take a mugshot.”

Hannity then read out a statement Trump made to Fox News Digital where he said it was “not a comfortable feeling, especially when you have done nothing wrong.”

“The process is the punishment, but only part of the punishment. Far left, radical prosecutors trying to put Donald J Trump behind bars for hundreds of years, they want him to die in prison,” said Hannity before he continued, “Why? Because he dared to challenge the results of an election.”

Hannity then went on to talk about Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and compared them to Trump.

Hannity also said, “If you are a prominent Democrat, if your last name is Biden or Clinton, the justice system will shield you from any and all scrutiny, no matter what crimes you are being accused of committing.”

The Fox News anchor added, “But if you’re a Republican and god forbid your last name is Trump, they will try to ruin your life.”

Sean Hannity faces backlash for supporting Donald Trump

After Sean Hannity took to X with a clip of the segment, the response was mainly people disappointed with Hannity's report in support of Donald Trump.

One person responded, "This is justice. Too bad what you say in private doesn’t match what you say in public.”

The internet has primarily responded to Hannity claiming it to be the "weaponization" of justice. One person wrote, “This is justice in America," and another said, “No, it's not. Equal justice under law is what it's called.”

“Sean, is it weird acting like you believe what you're saying?” wrote one person, and another also addressed Hannity directly, “It is not you know it. You know he committed the crimes he’s charged with. Tell the people the truth.”

Hannity has also been accused of "lying" after this segment as one person responded with, “Don’t you people ever get tired of lying?”
