Gavi has provided an update on his future following Barcelona's La Liga title triumph.

Gavi has insisted that he hopes to stay at Barcelona despite interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

The 18-year-old won his first La Liga title with Barcelona on Sunday evening as his side bested inner-city rivals Espanyol 4-2 at RCDE Stadium.

Gavi agreed terms on a four-year pro deal at Barça in September 2022, but attempts to register the contract with La Liga have proved futile as it was blocked by the league itself over financial concerns. La Blaugrana then lost a court appeal over the decision, meaning Gavi can now leave the club as a free agent in June upon the expiration of his youth contract.

The uncertainty regarding the youngster's Barça future has led to many speculating that his first La Liga title with the club could also be his last. Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all previously been interested in the dynamic midfielder's services and could be set to reignite their interest in the summer due to the ongoing contractual issues.

When asked about potentially leaving La Blaugrana however, Gavi insisted he is not planning on going anywhere.

"This is the first title here, this is the club of my dreams - it's Barça," he said. "I hope there will be many more."

90min reported in March that Gavi does not intend to leave the club any time soon and is seen by Xavi and the club as one of the 'pillars' around which the team is being built. Work is ongoing behind the scenes to register his new contract.

Relevo recently reported that, while the first appeal regarding Gavi's contract situation was rejected, the club are confident that the contract will be register before the end of June.
