Real Madrid's second-place position and three points earned from their 1-0 win against Getafe face uncertainty as Getafe files a formal complaint alleging an ineligible line-up by Los Blancos.

Real Madrid's recent 1-0 victory over Getafe helped them reclaim the second spot in La Liga, however, the club's win may be in jeopardy due to a formal complaint lodged by Getafe.

The complaint centres around a moment of confusion during the match when Marco Asensio, who was supposed to be substituted for Alvaro Odriozola, nearly left the pitch. However, an injury to Eduardo Camavinga forced Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti to alter his plans, resulting in Asensio remaining on the field and Camavinga being substituted for Odriozola instead.

According to reports from Marca, Getafe has submitted the allegations to the RFEF (Royal Spanish Football Federation), which is now awaiting a response from Real Madrid.

The incident in question shows that Asensio did not completely exit the field, while Odriozola did enter, effectively making Asensio the substituted player.

The RFEF will be responsible for assessing and making a judgment on the matter.

With the victory, Real Madrid secured the second spot in the standings, surpassing Atletico Madrid, but still trailing Barcelona, who went on to secure the title against Espanyol.

Ancelotti strategically implemented heavy squad rotation to ensure the fitness and sharpness of his key players in preparation for the upcoming second leg clash against Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final.

In the enthralling first leg of the semi-final, Vinicius Junior and Kevin De Bruyne showcased their brilliance by scoring remarkable goals, resulting in a 1-1 draw between the two sides.

Despite City's early dominance in the match, it was Madrid who broke the deadlock with a sensational strike from Vinicius - their only shot on target in the first half.

As the second half progressed and Madrid aimed to extend their lead, De Bruyne stunned the Bernabeu with a ferocious long-range effort, equalizing for City and momentarily silencing the home crowd.
