Harry Kane responds to questions about Tottenham's form & potential Premier League title challenge since his summer transfer to Bayern Munich.

Harry Kane has insisted he wants Tottenham to do well, despite leaving the club during the summer in pursuit of silverware, amid the possibility they could win a first trophy in what would be 16 years after a strong start under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Kane scored 280 times across all competitions for Spurs following his maiden strike in the Europa League in 2011 until his final goal on the last day of last season against Leeds. He won three Premier League Golden Boot awards, although the closest the club got to winning a trophy was finishing Premier League runners-up in 2017 and Champions League runners-up in 2019.

Without Kane, who is widely expected to pick up at least one major trophy – the first of his career – with Bayern Munich this season, there were concerns that Spurs might struggle.

But Postecoglou, a serial winner in Scotland with Celtic, has quickly put his own stamp on Spurs after last season’s turmoil that saw Antonio Conte leave and interim Cristian Stellini sacked. With a fresh look, Greek-Australian has put Spurs top of the Premier League after eight games.

There is a long way to go, but the prospect of launching a Premier League title challenge or doing well in the FA Cup without the distraction of a European competition cannot be ruled out.

Kane isn't bitter that his old club are finally doing well again without him, far from it.

"I have made it clear my whole career I am a Tottenham fan and I would love to see Tottenham do well," he said at a press conference with England.

"It's great to see. I think I've said before, the manager is doing great for them with the way they're playing. The fans are right behind the team and it's definitely what they needed after the last few years. I'll always keep an eye on Spurs and the Premier League.

"There is no other team in the Premier League I would want to win than Tottenham. I have to be respectful to Bayern Munich and of course, the fans know I will always have a soft spot for Spurs – there is no question about that. Of course, I hope [Tottenham] do as well as possible but my main attention is where I am now and trying to perform for Bayern."
