The divorce between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner has been anything but smooth

SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: 'Yellowstone' star Kevin Costner's estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, has left the actor's $145M property after the court ordered her to do so after she filed for divorce in May.

According to the settlement, a judge ordered Costner to pay Baumgartner $129,000 per month in child support. The former couple was married in 2004, and after 18 years of marriage, Baumgartner filed for divorce on May 1 citing "irreconcilable differences."

Has Christine Baumgartner found a new home?

According to Daily Mail, Baumgartner has reportedly shifted to a new property within 10 miles of her and Costner's former family home, renting it for $35,000 a month. The house has a swimming pool, fire pit and BBQ area in addition to four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Located in the exclusive neighborhood of California, the opulent house is surrounded by lush vegetation.

Baumgartner reportedly complained about having trouble finding a suitable home at the beginning of their divorce proceedings. An insider told People that the mother-of-three had been residing "at a smaller house" on the property that had been used for staffers after she moved out of the primary residence on July 28.

Did Christine Baumgartner refuse to leave Kevin Costner's home?

Costner claimed Baumgartner refused to leave his opulent mansion despite receiving $1.45M for a new home. On the other hand, Baumgartner claimed that the actor was attempting to leave her and their children "homeless." The subject rapidly shifted from what Baumgartner could take with her when the 'Yellowstone' actor initially asked the court to order his soon-to-be ex-wife to vacate their mansion. In court documents, Baumgartner argued that she had no intention to "strip" their Santa Barbara home of its possessions before leaving the property.

According to documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Baumgartner had sent pictures to Constner's attorney of what she intended to take, reducing the need for an "emergency hearing," which she referred to as "uncalled for." The document also disclosed that she had rented an "off-site" storage case to keep certain silverware, pots, pans, a Peloton bike, family heirlooms, apparel and personal goods from friends. Additionally, the documents stated that she would "not harm" Costner while taking away her belongings.

Costner and Baumgartner's divorce has been extremely messy. A judge decided in July she must consult Costner before taking anything from the estate. Without his express permission, she was not allowed to take any appliances, furniture, or artwork with her. Moreover, it was reported that she will not be allowed to take anything out of the mansion other than her clothes, personal items, handbags and jewelry. Costner had previously accused Baumgartner of pillaging the house they had previously shared.
