LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Harvey Weinstein is a convicted criminal, who sexually abused a number of women during his time in Hollywood. He also used his power to gain control over his victims. However, in December 2022, he was found guilty of rape, forced oral copulation, and third-degree sexual misconduct, and was sentenced to 16 years behind bars.
But a few years ago, a bombshell revelation came out about Weinstein, who allegedly wanted Jennifer Aniston dead. In 2020, some court documents were released, which claimed that the 71-year-old made the shocking comment about the ‘Friends’ star in October 2017 during the onset of the #MeToo movement, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
‘Move his mouth around making Jennifer uncomfortable’
At the time, the National Enquirer had apparently approached the former film producer via an email who said, “Jennifer [Aniston] confided to a friend that during the production of the 2005 movie Derailed Weinstein sexually assaulted her by pressing up against her back in [sic] grabbing her buttocks. … Through the years he would frequently stare at her cleavage/breast and move his mouth around making Jennifer uncomfortable.”
“We also quote a source close to Jennifer who tells the Enquirer: ‘Harvey was infatuated with Jennifer Aniston — He had a massive crush on her and constantly talked about how hot she was,” it added. In response to the message, Weinstein reportedly fired back, “Jen Aniston should be killed.” However, later the 54-year-old actress’ spokesperson told Variety, “The National Enquirer claims are false. Jennifer has not been harassed or assaulted by Harvey.”
‘It was just such a level of gross entitlement’
But Aniston had once complained of Weinstein’s “piggish behavior”. The ‘Murder Mystery’ star said as per ET Online, “There was the premiere dinner. I remember I was sitting at the dinner table with Clive, our producers and a friend of mine was sitting with me. And he literally came to the table and said to my friend, 'Get up!' And I was like, 'Oh my gosh.' And so my friend got up and moved and Harvey sat down. It was just such a level of gross entitlement and piggish behavior.”
She also mentioned another incident when the ex-Hollywood mogul wanted her to wear his former wife Georgina Chapman,'s then-newly-launched clothing label Marchesa. She added, “He came to visit me in London while we were shooting. He’d be like, 'OK, so I’d like you to wear one of these to the premiere [of Derailed].’ Marchesa wasn’t what it is today. It was not for me. He was like, 'You have to wear the dress.’ That was my only bullying. And I was like, 'No, I will not wear the dress.'... What was he going to do? Come over here and make me wear it?!’”
Meanwhile, the court papers included comments made by Weinstein’s brother Bob, the ex-co-chairman of the Weinstein Company. It read, “U deserve a lifetime achievement award for the sheer savagery and immorality and inhumanness, for the acts u have perpetrated. Oh, I forgot. They were all consensual. Then what are u in rehab for? Sex addiction. Don’t think so. You wouldn’t have harassment, assault, and rape charges u have now received, from 82 women for active consensual sex.”
