LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: Keke Palmer's life has undergone a major change since the birth of her son. The Primetime Emmy Award winner has finally decided to break her silence on the relationship drama that came to light in late July between her and her partner Darius Jackson.
The duo welcomed a son Leodis Andrellton Jackson in February this year when Darius publicly ranted about her outfit which she sported to Usher’s Las Vegas concert.
How did Keke Palmer respond to her relationship drama with Darius?
The 'Nope' star, 29, gave a befitting reply to Darius by starring in a music video for none other than the 'U Got It Bad' singer, for his newest track, cheekily titled 'Boyfriend'. The music video dropped on Wednesday, August 16, after both Usher and Palmer began teasing the song that repeats, "Somebody said that your boyfriend was looking for me / Oh that’s cool,” on Tuesday.
In the music video, which was shot where Palmer attended Usher’s My Way residency in Las Vegas, the R&B hitmaker and the Hustlers actress surprises with blue highlights in her hair while she and a group of women get ready to go out in a lavish Sin City hotel room.
Although she did not sing the track herself, the former Nickelodeon star briefly boasted her vocal skills while the women are in a hotel elevator by briefly singing along to Usher’s 'U Remind Me' when the music stops.
Palmer then proves that she is capable of having her own Vegas residency by showing off dance moves in the casino and even duetted with the “OMG” singer himself in matching moto jackets and jeans. “Yes, yes. Hello?” she answers her phone, as she wakes up in a hotel bed at the end of the video. “What time is it? Damn it! I missed the show.”
“I’m so tired,” she continues, before looking to the camera to say, “I’m mother, after all,” with a wink.
What did Darius say about Palmer?
Palmer’s witty remark at the end of the video seems to be her response to Darius' remarks which he made about the actress' outfit in July. In a now-deleted quote tweet of the former Nickelodeon star, who was wearing a sheer dress and dancing with Usher, the fitness instructor wrote, “It’s the outfit tho… you a mom.”
Jackson even went to the extent of deleting every reference to her from his Instagram account and later deactivated his social media accounts for a brief period last month after hundreds of Palmer fans lambasted him for criticizing his girlfriend.
According to People Magazine, he wrote in another since-deleted post after receiving backlash for his comment, "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
