Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins discusses her former bandmate Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes in a recent documentary

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins discusses her former bandmate Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in a recent documentary. She stated that she thought Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes would be the "female Kanye" if she were still living today. T-Boz and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas talk about their experiences as members of the popular group in the documentary TLC Forever. Today marked the debut of the Lifetime feature documentary.

According to T-Boz, "She'd be the female Kanye West." She defended her statement, stating, "If she had Twitter fingers, she'd be all over the place and have something to say about everything and not care. She'd be making all of the shocking comments." She continued, "And Kanye was the only comparison I could think of about what my sister would be like now."

How did Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes die?

The center of TLC, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, was troubled all the time. Her legal troubles and drug misuse shook TLC. At the age of 30, 'Left Eye' died in an automobile accident in Honduras while on a spiritual retreat. She captured the journey on camera. This film is now being used in the VH1 documentary 'Last Days of Left Eye'. Lopes reportedly lost control while speeding and was reported to have no international driving license by Jutiapa officials. In Roma, a province of Jutiapa, the automobile overturned, as reported by Hotnewhiphop.

Chilli spoke about the artist's demise while promoting the documentary. She recalled, "I remember I didn't listen to the radio for a long time 'cause I didn't wanna hear reports about her," she described.

"We didn't want people coming up, saying, 'Oh, I'm so sorry,'" Chilli continued, "and I know that they meant well, but when you're in pain, you just don't wanna hear any of that. It took me a long time to refer to her in the past [tense] because I couldn't believe it. And I think it has so much to do with when you're young like that, you think you're invincible." In the film, T-Boz also talked about having sickle cell anemia and having a benign brain tumor surgically removed in 2010, as per reports.

'I just thought I might as well tell people'

She said, "Maturing over the years and realizing how many things I have triumphed over makes you start reminiscing, like, dang, I got through that and that?" The artist added, "I just thought I might as well tell people so they'll understand, and hopefully it will help someone."
