LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, the acclaimed director-writer duo, are celebrating the arrival of their second child. In a interview, which delves into Gerwig's personal journey and her involvement in the highly anticipated live-action 'Barbie' film, the filmmaker reflects on her current phase of life as she approaches 40.
“I’m about to be 40,” she told the Elle. “And there’s something about that where you’re like — 'Oh! I’m properly middle-aged now.’ All parts of life feel extremely activated.”

But I’m still doing that thing where I wake up, every hour to 90 minutes, and just hover. You just keep wanting to look at that baby. So I’m slightly in a twilight state.”
Gerwig and Baumbach have openly discussed the birth of their second child as well. The Oscar-nominated writer and director of 'Lady Bird' had revealed her pregnancy during an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' in December 2022. At the time, Fallon teased Gerwig's news, and she joyfully confirmed, "Yes, I am with child," prompting cheers and applause from the audience.
