In its latest effort to connect trainers around the world, the whole evolutionary line for Scatterbug has made its Pokémon GO debut.
Perhaps the highlight of the new promotion is that Scatterbug's final evolution, Vivillon, has 18 different patterns that trainers can collect. The catch, however, is that the Vivillon patterns are said to be each affected by the climate of their habitat, meaning that Scatterbug from different regions evolve into Vivillon with different patterns.
As such, here's a breakdown of how to get Scatterbug in Pokémon GO.
How to Get Scatterbug in Pokémon GO
In order to get Scatterbug in Pokémon GO, trainers will need to pin Postcards they receive from a friend from a different region. If you collect several Postcards from a certain part of the world, you can encounter a Scatterbug specifically from that habitat.
More specifically, when you pin a Postcard you receive from a friend, you'll make progress on the Vivillon medal associated with that location via sub-medals. Trainers can pin both their own Postcards (up to three of your own per day) and Postcards they receive from friends. These sub-medals are associated with the different Vivillon pattern regions.
The first sub-medal requires collecting three Postcards from a region associated with the Vivillon patterns. After completing a sub-medal, Trainers can continue to make progress toward that sub-medal to earn additional encounters with Scatterbug. The number of Postcards required to raise the sub-medal rank increases with each rank.
In wake of the new Vivillon patterns, trainers in the community are inviting others to share their friend codes on social media in order to help each other obtain Scatterbug from other regions.
