Scattered around the many realms in God of War Ragnarök are Nornir Chests. Here's how to open up the rune chest in Radsvinn’s Rig.

Nornir Chests are found all over the realms, containing valuable materials such as Idunn Apples or Horns of Blood Mead. These items will either increase Kratos' health or his Maximum Rage — both important gauges to max out for the many fights ahead.

But because these items are so valuable, cracking open the Nornir Chests requires more work. To unlock them, you'll need to find and break three runes, or Seals, located around the area near the chest. Here's how to find the runes and open the Nornir Rune Chest in Radsvinn’s Rig.

For these runes, you’ll need to use the Blades of Chaos to ignite their torches by pressing L2 + R2. The runes you're looking for bear a resemblance to the letters 'C', 'R' and 'N'.

  • Rune ‘C’ — Found immediately to the left of the chest. Ignite the torch to break this seal.
  • Rune ‘R’ — Start heading away from the chest, to the right. You'll come across two barrels which Atreus can fire his arrows into. They’ll explode, revealing a gap which you aim the Blades of Chaos through and launch them to ignite the ‘R’ rune torch.
  • Rune ‘N’ - Follow around to the left, past the ‘C’ rune torch. The ‘N’ rune is behind a metal grate, with a fire pot above it. Climb up the ledge to the right, then swing across the gap directly behind. Throw your axe at the pot to ignite the rune torch.

Once all runes are broken, head back to the chest. Open it to receive an Idunn Apple.
