LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ co-host and weather presenter Al Roker has been a loyal servant of the long-running morning show on NBC. His absence in the studio is thoroughly missed by the viewers who just can’t seem to get enough of his jovial nature. However, over the last few weeks, Al’s health has been a question of concern among the fans and his peers alike. Al underwent a massive second knee replacement surgery and was seen using a cane to stand during the live broadcast of the ‘Today’ show a while ago.
The weatherman is still recovering from his surgery and any movement is strictly prohibited by his doctor. Given his doctor’s advice, Al decided to miss a major poker event that raises money for charity. The 68-year-old anchor was supposed to travel to Kansas City to participate in the event but owing to his doctor’s advice, the anchor decided otherwise. Instead, he took his wife to a Polo game.
'Hung out with husband and wife Polo players'
Al took to Instagram recently and gave a sneak peek into his outing at the Polo tracks. He was accompanied by his wife Deborah Roberts at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Al mentioned that he and his wife attended the prestigious sporting Polo event because his doctor won't allow him to “travel to #kansascity to support the @bigslickkc.” The Big Slick is a prestigious poker tournament hosted by actors Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, and Jason Sudeikis that raises funds for a charity called Children's Mercy. Instead, the couple spent time with a husband-wife duo who were both Polo players.
Al and Deborah were also seen spending time with CBS broadcast journalist Gayle King and Peloton instructor and 'Today' contributor Ally Love. Al wore a white pinstripe suit that complimented his purple shirt, tie, and a lovely hat that he can never get enough of. Deborah wasn’t far behind as she donned a lovely pink and white dress with an orange sun hat.
Deborah’s day to shine
Al’s wife Deborah is a correspondent for 'Good Morning America' on ABC. Along with Al, Deborah has enjoyed a successful career in journalism and while she’s not on the job, Deborah surely knows how to slay with her outfits. The 62-year-old rocked a pink, ruffled jacket over her outfit, but seemed to have taken it off later in the day. She wore a huge orange and pink hat that sat well with a ring and earrings.
Al has been recovering from his second knee replacement surgery, which he just had in May and the outing to a Polo game was one of the first outings he has gone to since his surgery.
