Tiffany Haddish thanked everyone for making her 'famous and relevant' after becoming meme fodder for being 'obsessed' with Shakira

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY: Tiffany Haddish, who appeared to be "obsessed" with Shakira at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, has once again sparked memes after responding to allegations that she "harassed" the 'Hips Don't Lie' hitmaker.

The 43-year-old 'Girls Trip' star could be seen yelling "Shakira! Shakira!" repeatedly at the VMAs backstage.

One time, while the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award winner posed for photographs in a crowded room, Haddish tried to follow her but the singer suddenly fled without responding to her shrill shouts.

The star even repeatedly photobombed Shakira as she tried to pose with the awards.

Haddish quickly went viral, largely as a result of the mounting criticism from fans who said she was bothering the Latino vocalist.

On Saturday, though, the comic fired back, claiming she was unconcerned by the online chaos.

"When people make videos about me or talk about me Good or bad. I just think Thank you all for making me more famous and relevant," she wrote on X.

"I see it's driving the enemy crazy cause they really want to be where I am, It will never happen," she added.
