Wondering if Overwatch 2 is free on Xbox? Here's what you need to know.
Overwatch 2 has made a number of changes to the formula of the original. From gameplay to heroes, things are looking a little different in the online shooter's sequel. Despite server issues and lengthy queues having plagued the game since its launch last week, plenty of players have been diving into everything Overwatch 2 has to offer.
One of the biggest changes to head to Overwatch 2 is its price point.
Is Overwatch 2 Free on Xbox?
Overwatch 2 is free-to-play on every platform. Players can dive into the action on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC at no cost. The original Overwatch required players to purchase the base game, and were then given the option to buy in-game cosmetics and extras through microtransactions.
Overwatch 2 isn't completely devoid of purchases, though. Players have the option to buy the game's premium Battle Pass, consisting of 80 tiers to work through and costing 1,000 Overwatch Coins (roughly $10).
Overwatch 2 also features a free Battle Pass, allowing players to unlock certain rewards every four tiers of the full 80 tier Battle Pass.
