NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Tucker Carlson, who currently appears on Twitter with his news report, is planning on going big. As per media sources, a former Fox News presenter is trying to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in funds to start his own new media organization. Carlson was kicked out of Fox Corporation by its founder and chairman Rupert Murdoch amid the $787.5M out-of-court settlement. The company had to pay Dominion Voting Systems over the spread of 2020 election lies.

He is also involved in a legal battle with his former employer for allegedly breaking the terms of his $25M annual contract. Many experts also feel that the move is going to hurt Twitter since the micro-blogging platform is trying to bring back the advertisers who left after Elon Musk’s $44 billion acquisition. Twitter is also bringing some high-profile content creators to post on its site, to bring media personalities to switch to Twitter. Andrew Tate, who is facing charges of rape and human trafficking allegations in Romania, was interviewed by Carlson. The influencer said that he was paid $20,000 by the social media giants.

Carlson is said to have teamed up with ex-White House adviser Neil Patel and will be seen anchoring to the extended versions of his Twitter shows. The users will get free access to the short clips of Carlson’s shows, but in order to watch the full version, a subscription fee will be charged, reports The Wall Street Journal. The media outlet also claims that Carlson and Patel have already approached a team of lawyers, financiers, and media strategists for the new company. The duo had also co-founded the right-wing ‘Daily Caller news site back in 2010. There are also reports that Twitter’s newly appointed CEO Linda Yaccarino met with Carlson’s longtime producer Justin Wells recently.

'Unlikely to broadcast his show on YouTube'

Though the news presenter is yet to comment officially, his spokesperson told that the chances of him broadcasting his show on YouTube are quite slim due to censorship issues. Carlon is yet to comment publicly on the new company. But a spokesperson for Carlson told the Journal he was unlikely to broadcast the show on YouTube due to censorship concerns. Carlson’s controversial 8 pm primetime show was accused of spreading lies and conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, including January 6 Capitol Hill riots, as per Independent.
