OAK ISLAND, NORTH CAROLINA: David Eason, the spouse of 'Teen Mom 2' star Jenelle Evans, has been charged with a misdemeanor for child abuse after Evans' 14-year-old son Jace went missing thrice in six weeks.
Police sources said that "there's a possibility (Jenelle) could eventually face charges as well," and that they have a "video of an assault involving Jace," reports Daily Mail.
Evans, 31, shares Jace with ex Andrew Lewis. She also shares Kaiser, 9, with ex Nathan Griffith. With 35-year-old Eason, Evans has a 6-year-old daughter, Ensley.
After attempting to run away thrice, Jace is presently in the care of his maternal grandmother Barbara Evans, with whom he has lived for much of his life.
Jenelle Evans complained of harassment on TikTok
In a clip that Evans uploaded on TikTok, she said, "I’m just getting so much harassment and I’m being called a piece of s**t mom (and) horrible mother."
"All of these comments are stemming from one person who is spreading it - if you know who I’m talking about," she continued, implying that her mother was behind the child abuse probe.
Evans did not get into the specifics of the case, saying, "This will all be over soon and then I’ll be able to tell you guys the full truth and what’s going on, but like right now, please just keep your comments to yourself because I’m trying to keep my mental health in check."
"I want to keep you guys updated with real content and not just complaining or talking about my situation all the time," she added.
In a separate TikTok post, she said, "I know you’ll see me all the time on TikTok and you're like, 'She’s so happy she doesn’t care' - I do care about what’s going on, I just try not to film myself when I'm so depressed, you know? But I need to keep reminding myself I’ve been through way worse in the past, and this will pass - this too shall pass."
"I think what hurts me the most is that my own parent would do this to me, my own parent caused this whole storm, s**t storm - it just hurts because I would never treat my children that way. I know that I will treat my children with love and respect and if they need my help, I will give them my help without making them feel like a burden."

According to a source, doctors found marks on Jace's arms and neck when he was taken to the hospital the following day. They also alleged that the physical interaction was captured on the doorbell camera at their home.
The probe appears to be expanding to include their other children as well since Jace claimed that he was not the only one to be physically harmed.

Social media users are enraged, and Jenelle Evans is also catching her husband's heat.
One user said, "Why is any form of child abuse a misdemeanor but someone caught with Mary Jane gets a felony?"
"Waiting for her to say it’s her mom’s fault as usual!!!!" said another one.
"Do you know why assaulting a minor is a misdemeanor & not a felony?" one user asked.
"Someone teach David a lesson," a user fumed.
One user remarked, "That child he hurt has to live with the nightmare of his “stepfather’s “ hands around his neck.. for the rest of his life.. but that’s a “misdemeanor “. Once again David and Jenelle slither on by the system. And Jenelle will lie and make excuses and dummies will STILL believe her."
