LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Garner, who has prioritized being a mother above all else, has apparently turned down longtime beau John Miller’s proposal to move in together despite dating him for almost five years. The ‘Peppermint’ star, 51, and the Cali Group CEO sparked romance in 2018, just a few months after she finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

After two years of dating, Garner and Miller decided to take a brief break in 2020, but their romance rekindled just a year later. According to reports, the businessman recently asked the actress to move in together, however, she rejected the proposal as she apparently doesn’t want her children to go through yet another blended-family adjustment. Garner’s three children, whom she shares with Affleck, are still adapting to the whole stepfamily situation with the actor’s second wife, Jennifer Lopez, and her 15-year-old twins, Max and Emme. Garner and Affleck exchanged vows in June 2005 and stayed together for ten years before announcing their separation in 2015.

'Jennifer loves John'

Despite their lengthy divorce, Garner and Affleck have made effective efforts to maintain a friendship and co-parent their three kids — Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Sam, 11. However, a source told that the ‘Justice League’ star’s new marriage has been an adjustment for his children, and that’s the reason why Garner is not taking the next step in her relationship with Miller, as per Radar Online. "To invite another man into the house right now, one who has two teenaged children of his own, means her children would get even less time with her, and that's just not an option," the source reportedly said. However, that does not imply that she's shutting the door forever on her relationship with Miller.

"Jennifer loves John and they see each other whenever they can," the informer said further. These claims came after it was revealed that Garner is allegedly not ready to walk down the aisle for a second time despite her romance with Miller going better than ever. An insider had previously told Radar Online that the ‘Catch and Release' star is thriving professionally and personally as she is successfully co-parenting with Affleck. "Jen spent so many years prioritizing her children. But she's in a place now where she feels she can focus on herself a bit more,” the source said.

'Jen's not ready to wed again'

The source continued by saying that although Garner found it "difficult" to accept that her children would have divorced parents, she now feels as though they are "older, more independent, and settled in their new normal" — which involves dividing their time between her home and Affleck's and stepmother Lopez's house. "Jen doesn't feel guilty enjoying her life. When the kids are with Ben and Jennifer, she relishes spending that time with John, who's been an understanding partner. Although Jen's not ready to wed again,” the informer added.

Earlier, it was reported that Garner and Lopez mended their relationship after Affleck’s new wife realized it'd be better for her marriage to have his ex-wife on her team. "J Lo has come to accept that Jen will always be a huge influence on Ben," a source stated, adding, "Even if they're not married, he still values Jen's opinion and respects her. While Jennifer is one of the issues that's caused recent tension in Ben's marriage, J Lo admits it helps her cause in the end." "Instead of fighting it, J Lo's trying a new approach — to join forces with Jen and be her pal... It's a huge shift in strategy, but her relationship's in major trouble right now, so desperate times call for desperate measures," the informer added.
