Jessica White shared a lengthy statement about her relationship with Nick Cannon

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Supermodel and actress Jessica White alleged that dating the rapper and TV personality Nick Cannon, 42, was "emotionally abusive," in her long-term relationship. Though she claimed they had been together for eight years, the former Victoria's Secret runway model apparently dated the 'Wild 'N Out' host and creator from 2015 to 2020.

After a highly publicized separation, White put her mental health recovery in the spotlight while pursuing her career as an R&B singer. White, 38, is accustomed to being in the spotlight, having had an illustrious career as Victoria's Secret runway model, Maybelline spokeswoman, and CoverGirl. The celebrity began dating the host of 'Wild N Out' in 2015, and in 2020, she miscarried Nick's child, following which the duo separated.

'I went through an emotionally abusive relationship'

White spoke candidly about her relationship with Nick when she walked the red carpet for rapper French Montana's documentary 'For Khadija' at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, June 16. She told Page Six in an exclusive interview, "I went through an emotionally abusive relationship, and everybody goes through it. I am just the first person in Hollywood to talk about it, and not try to make a pretty picture of it. I don’t want to be perfect."

She made it obvious that a rekindled romance was out of the question. She resolutely declared, "I am not ever going back and that’s the facts. I am having so much fun without him, and I am better without him, and I don’t need all that energy and all that s***. I am done." She claimed that she was still interested in having a child with the "right man" when the time comes, despite having no desire to be Nick's seventh baby mother. "I am going to try, but with the right man this time," she remarked.

White said in a 2021 interview with Hollywood Unlocked that she learned of another woman's pregnancy over Instagram while they were still dating. She recalled at the time, "I was going through still my hormonal changes, and we were about to start in vitro. So when I came out, people thought I was this homewrecker. No, there was a real-life going on. I was bullied for months with that whole situation. I still tried to be nice about it. We didn’t break up right away, we tried to work things out." Nick went ahead and has been fathering 12 children so far.

'Definitely wasted 8 years on trash'

White recently took to her Instagram handle to speak about her mental health struggle while dealing with her separation from the rapper. She shared a post with her followers with a lengthy caption, "I love how IG is full of mental health doctors and people who are healed, sanctified and filled with the precious Holy Ghost! I mean I wish I could have been so lucky in life! Lol

"You could never be me and be this graceful. You know how much I don’t say and still keep it cute!? Yes, I Definitely wasted 8 years on trash and was insanely loyal to a human who would never in life be the same. I’ve been in therapy the last 2 years, been healing and will never stop healing, self-esteem was once in the broken place and I'm still recovering but definitely better than I was.

"I'm extremely sweet, kind and gentle and don't want to be bitter so I stay hopeful. Healing doesn't mean you go into a box and stop desiring love and that's what I was expressing in this last post that was blogged about. I’m excited about everything because I know where I’ve come from. I take a different approach then most people but I know who I am. I love my journey and don't plan on ever hiding from my truth hope all you instagram therapist, shaman and everyone who has it together can do the same. Love."

'You gained an abundance of wisdom'

Fans and followers instantly poured in their heartfelt support for the supermodel in the comment section of the Instagram post. One fan wrote, "Keep Jesus close girl. When you have a breakthrough what usually follows is negativity to try to get you away from God. Stay focused. No one is perfect but learn and understand others that may judge and pray for them. I hope to talk to you soon." A second fan wrote, "You didn’t waste 8 years, you gained an abundance of wisdom that will propel you forward. Keep sharing your truth, it’s refreshing." Another fan chimed in, "The internet psych doctors need more healing than anyone. Whatever happened to compassion continue to share your truth baby girl some of us feel you." A fourth fan exclaimed, "Don’t explain yourself to anyone. Remember what happened on our last show? NO ONE deserves your energy or bright light." Someone else wrote, "Babe you said it in the most eloquent way and I love your journey. None of us are perfect and most people don’t do the work on themselves. I am a REAL therapist and I say you are amazing!" One more fan wrote, "I’m sorry that you went through the ringer with Nick, you didn’t deserve that but know that some women are in awww of you finding the strength to move forward. Thank you for sharing your truth. You are LOVED more that you know! Just happy you got out & still standing tall and beautiful."
