Bill Maher drew links between the KKK and wokes due to their fixation with race

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Bill Maher is a comedian, writer, producer, political commentator, actor, and TV host best known for his work on the late-night talk shows, 'Politically Incorrect' and 'Real Time with Bill Maher' on HBO.

He is renowned for his political humor and sociopolitical analysis on subjects such as politics, religion and the media.

Recently, Bill Maher appeared on Joe Rogan's podcast, 'The Joe Rogan Experience.' Rogan called Maher a "liberal" while discussing leftists' "fringe ideas."

Joe Rogan claims Bill Maher is a liberal

Maher linked far-left progressives to the Ku Klux Klan and the "'90s liberal" of that era due to their fixation with race. Rogan compared Maher to a liberal who must support radical ideologies in order to fit in.

Rogan said, "You’re like liberals back when they were more reasonable before they became leftists. And now every liberal kind of has to be a leftist."

"If you want to be on the team, you’ve got to subscribe to the most fringe ideas that the team is promoting," he added.

Maher claimed that he was "always trying to make the case that 'liberal' is a different animal than 'woke,’" which he believed pushed things too far to the left.

While many critics' definitions of woke differ, Maher claimed that it had to do with the emphasis on identification and political correctness rather than solving problems.

Maher said, "You can be woke, with all the nonsense that that now implies, but don’t say that somehow it’s an extension of liberalism. Because it’s most often actually an undoing of liberalism."

He added, "You can have your points of view and your positions on these things but don’t try and piggyback on what I always believe. I have always believed, as liberals do for example, in a colorblind society."

"That the goal is to not see race at all, anywhere for any reason. That’s what liberals always believed all the way through Obama, going back [to] Kennedy, everybody, Martin Luther King," Maher continued.

"That’s not what the woke believe," he further stated.

Bill Maher criticizes Democratic-run communities

On his 'Club Random' earlier in September, Maher criticized Democratic-run communities for their treatment of migrants and the homeless.

His guest, Sharon Osbourne, spoke about moving back to England as they were discussing the quality of life in American cities.

Osbourne stated that while there were homeless people in London, it's "nothing like here" since they "cannot set up home in the streets."

Maher asked, "No tents?" To this Osbourne responded, "No." "That's where it all went wrong for us," Maher responded.

He continued, "It follows the same logic as what I previously said about how liberalism actually is the opposite."

"Liberalism asks, 'Can we get these people off the streets for the sake of humanity and compassion?' 'How dare you ask them to relocate,' say the woke. This is where they live. No, it is not," he added.

In recent months, Maher has also attacked President Joe Biden, claiming that his "competency worries me more than ideology."

Maher is a harsh critic of Republicans and former president Doanld Trump, but he also draws scorn from the left for his willingness to call out what he sees as "liberalism gone wild."
