Joe Rogan claimed on his podcast show that he would have beaten the deceased martial artist Bruce Lee in arm wrestling

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, well-known UFC commentator and host of one of the top podcasts in the world, challenged the deceased martial arts legend Bruce Lee for an arm wrestling matchup during his podcast show with Tom Segura, claiming he would have beaten Lee.

The two-hour-long discussion touched upon a number of issues, including participating in a sober October challenge. They also discussed the negative impacts of progressivism on cities, as well as how to deal with predators in the animal kingdom.

'I was gonna win'

Despite the fact that Rogan is a UFC commentator, he has never actually competed in the UFC. However, he has various accomplishments in combat sports, besides being a comedian and actor. Rogan is a four-time state Taekwondo champion, as well as a black belt in Gi and no-Gi Jiu-Jitsu.

He playfully challenged Lee to an arm-wrestling match during his episode with Segura. Despite the fact that this was a casual conversation, Rogan believed he would have won against Lee.

“But I was gonna win. I haven’t arm-wrestled anybody in like a f**king decade. What are the odds?” Segura responded by saying that he believes in Rogan. "No, but I had full confidence in you," he quipped.

The conversation went on with several giggles in between, and Segura had tears in his eyes near the end.

'Lee influenced a whole culture'

Rogan, a martial arts champion and significant figure in the sport, admires Lee, a great martial artist who represented true fight. Meanwhile, Rogan's influence in MMA has had an impact on a number of notable people.

During a conversation on 'JRE', Rogan acknowledged his love for Lee. He said, “It’s kind of crazy that one guy [Bruce Lee] and one particular style of movie created like a whole way that people wanted to fight.”

Rogan, a jiu-jitsu black belt, complimented Lee for inspiring him as a child to seek an MMA career. According to Rogan, "Lee influenced a whole culture." He added, “He’s absolutely the original reason why I got interested in martial arts.”

Rogan criticized the portrayal of Lee in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood', stating that the movie made him appear like a buffoon, despite the fact that he was a brilliant and insightful person. He said, “The problem was they made him look like a buffoon. There was no evidence that he was a buffoon…It’s a movie about a real person who has a real legacy and a bunch of people love him.”

“There was a lot of evidence that Bruce Lee was this brilliant, insightful guy and in that movie, they made a character of that. I didn’t like it. You’re making the guy looking like a f**king idiot when he wasn’t an idiot,” Rogan noted.
