AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, a controversial UFC commentator and a podcast host recently discussed his struggles of growing up in a poor family and explained how his "first check from Disney" changes his financial status in society.

Ice Cube, member of the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, recently stunned fans with a surprise appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast. Rogan and Cube's podcast talk took an unexpected turn when Rogan opened up about his path from humble beginnings to a life of luxury.

'I grew up poor'

The renowned duo dived deep into some personal experiences on the #2004 'JRE' podcast. Rogan reflected on his 'poor' days, remarking, "I grew up poor." Rogan then recalled a pleasant memory from his childhood: the day he received his first paycheck from Disney.

Rogan said, "I remember I got my first check from Disney, for a development deal from Disney – in 1993 and when I got the check, I was like – ‘weight lifted off my shoulder!'"

His circumstances have changed dramatically since getting the check. Rogan added, "I’m eating lobster every day…. I’m like – ‘I’m eating steak and lobster – I’m taking my friends out. I’m spending money! It feels good."

The millionaire podcaster went on to say, “I could look in my bank account, I got money in the bank account – I can pay the bills. I don’t have to think about the bills right now."

Joe Rogan did ordinary jobs

Rogan, a fighting star and podcast host, has a net worth of $120 million and formerly performed odd jobs. To make ends meet, he worked as a security guard and a construction worker.

Rogan said on one of the podcast episodes that he used to work as a security guard at Great Woods in Mansfield, Massachusetts. At the moment, he was 19 years old. Rogan spoke with guests Josh Dubin and Bruce Bryan about his prior career, specifically how he witnessed a shift in people's views once they were given positions of responsibility.

He went on to explain that it takes someone 'special' to not abuse a position of authority and that he feels the majority of individuals lack that quality. “They were all they all didn’t listen yet yell at them," Rogan said.

"You have to tell them what to do and there was a culture of doing that these people behaved almost exactly the way you describe in the Stanford Prison Experiment, or you describe with cops, and on some occasions these people they were terrible to these people, and it was normal,” he further added.
