Theo Von and Joe Rogan experimented with smelling salts and recommended 'wafting' the unpleasant fragrance rather than inhaling it

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Smelling salts, an ammonia-based chemical, is used to help someone who has fainted to regain consciousness. On the other hand, athletes and weightlifters utilize the inhalant to boost their performance and activate their nerve systems.

Joe Rogan, known for his contentious debates and wild claims on 'The Joe Rogan Experience' podcast, recently had a funny experience with smelling salts that almost caused him to vomit.

The smelling salts that strongman Rob Kearney allegedly uses before a workout were put to the test on the show by Rogan and special guest comedian Theo Von. But the outcome was not what they had anticipated.

They utilized smelling salts that were packaged in a plastic jar and a sealed bag. The unpleasant smell enveloped the room as soon as Von and Joe Rogan unzipped the bag. It was recommended that you simply "waft" the smell rather than breathing it in completely because it can be extremely strong.

Joe Rogan warns weightlifters about the potency of salts

On the podcast, Jamie, Rogan's assistant, warned them about the potency of the salts. Rogan asked someone, who was behind the camera, "There's something about this stuff that when you take a whiff of it right before you lift, it's supposed to like jolt your nervous system, right? Is that the idea?"

Von removed the jar's cover and bravely inhaled while feeling both curious and hesitant. He was comically taken aback by the intensity of the salts as soon as the smell reached him. Von responded with a screwed-up expression and tears in his eyes when Rogan inquired whether he was okay.

Rogan wanted to know if weightlifters used smelling salts before lifting weights since he was curious about their use. Von asked jokingly if they used them before raising the cosmos or their future as he struggled to get over the smell. Rogan quickly made the decision to try the salts for himself. Rogan started vomiting and almost puked when the foul smell reemerged as he sniffed the container.

It was Jamie's turn after a little period of coughing and flinching at the scent. Jamie also got a whiff of the salts, and the potency made him cough. Von compared the stench of a child's puke in an elementary school to the salts in a funny way.

Rogan admitted that the salts were far more strong than ammonia scent while still recoiling from it. He remarked, "I don't know he almost gets you two separate from your thoughts right it's. So wild. It's so jolting!"

Do weightlifters smell salt?

It's important to note that salts are used by weightlifters to improve performance by boosting alertness and stimulating the neural system. Although smelling salts only have short-term effects, they can be helpful for weightlifters who require an extra boost during challenging training or contests.

But as Rogan's amusing response showed, these chemicals may be very potent and overwhelming, which can result in unexpected and humorous events.
