JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: Joseph Ladapo, Florida’s Surgeon General, has warned against taking the new COVID-19 booster vaccine, stating that there are several 'red flags' over its safety.

Speaking at a “Mandate Freedom” press conference in Jacksonville, the 44-year-old state surgeon, who has been a long-time masking opponent, asserted that there was no evidence to support getting the shot that is expected to receive approval in the coming days.

"There’s a new vaccine that’s coming around the corner, a new mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, and there’s essentially no evidence for it," Ladapo said on Thursday, September 06, according to Fox News.

In 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Ladapo, a doctor who trained at Harvard and was previously a UCLA medical researcher, as surgeon general.

What does Joseph Lapado say about the new COVID-19 booster vaccine?

At the press conference, Lapado claimed that the new COVID booster vaccine "actually causes cardiac injury in many people."

“These new RNA COVID-19 vaccines include the fact that they actually cause cardiac injury in many people … call it subclinical myocarditis, its clinical significance is really unknown,” he said.

In addition, the state surgeon noted that several studies have demonstrated how immunizations raise a person's risk of contracting Covid-19, adding "There are a lot of red flags."

Lapado praised the governor for opposing "PhDs and MDs" who promoted social exclusion, disguising, and vaccines despite his nonexistent background in the medical field.

“Remember that experience of hearing these very educated people telling you what you should think but then listening inside to what makes sense, right? What feels right? You know what feels like truth,” he said, according to the New York Post.

While the US Centres for Disease Control, the Globe Health Organisation, and the majority of countries across the globe promote mRNA-style COVID-19 vaccinations as safe and effective, Ladapo rejected vaccine proponents and urged those who don't want to get vaccinated to follow their instincts.

“We’re all at different points in our spiritual journeys, but we all have that connection at some level,” he said.

“And when they try to convince you to be comfortable and agree with things that don’t feel comfortable, and don’t feel like things you should agree with, that is a sign … That’s a gift that’s one of that’s something that we’re endowed with from our Creator,” the state surgeon continued.

How did Joseph Lapado’s previous warnings get him into trouble?

Earlier this year, federal health officials stated that Ladapo's previous claims were inaccurate and that his reservation warnings against COVID-19 vaccines put the general public in danger.

In March, the US Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention sent a letter to Ladapo, who garnered national scrutiny over his close alignment with the governor in opposing COVID-19 vaccine mandates and other health policies embraced by the federal government, according to Associate Press.

The state surgeon last year released guidance recommending against COVID-19 vaccinations for healthy children, contradicting federal public health leaders whose advice says all children should get the shots.

“It is the job of public health officials around the country to protect the lives of the populations they serve, particularly the vulnerable. Fueling vaccine hesitancy undermines this effort,” said the letter signed by FDA Commissioner Robert Califf and then-CDC Director Rochelle Walensky.

At that time, several public records also revealed that Lapado withheld key information from analysis when publishing that guidance.
