Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp gives injury updates on Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota after the 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp admitted Liverpool may lose Alisson Becker to injury ahead of a hectic schedule of matches after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

The Brazilian goalkeeper received treatment during the clash between the Premier League's top two but soldiered on through until full-time, making four saves as his side grabbed a late point.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's equaliser cancelled out Erling Haaland's strike, though both sides now trail Arsenal at the top of the table following their dramatic win at Brentford on Saturday night.

Portuguese forward Diogo Jota was also taken off early in the second half and Klopp admitted the Reds will have to wait to discover how serious the two injuries are.

He told talkSPORT: "It looks like we've lost Ali with a muscle problem and Diogo Jota.

"And that is massive. I don't know how many games coming up now [until Boxing Day], maybe 15 [ten].

"We have to get through this, we have to improve, we need to get more stable and in games like this, we should be more compact."

While Alisson has played once in Liverpool's Europa League campaign so far, back-up goalie Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to come in between the sticks for Thursday night's Anfield clash with Austrian side LASK.

A potential absence for Jota would put added strain on Klopp's forward options, though the Reds have strength in depth with Luis Diaz, Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott all utilised from the bench on Saturday.

Klopp is already without first choice left-back Andy Robertson after the Scotsman underwent shoulder surgery, while midfielders Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic are also sidelined.

While they couldn't record victory at the Etihad, Liverpool did became the first team to stop Man City winning a home game since Everton in December 2022, ending a 23-match winning run for Pep Guardiola's side.
