NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: Keanu Reeves was seen performing for his rock band for the first time in over two decades. The 58-year-old is a member of a grunge band named Dogstar, who gave their first live performance in over twenty years at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival.

'The Matrix' star was seen effortlessly hitting the high notes while he played bass on the Verizon stage on Saturday, May 27. Reeves was joined by his bandmates, vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse, on stage during the performance.

How did Reeves become a part of the band?

The Hollywood superstar joined the group, which was originally formed in 1991, after running into their drummer in a supermarket. A huge hockey fan, Reeves spotted Mailhouse's Detroit Red Wings hockey jersey and immediately struck up a conversation.

The group has gone through significant changes in the last few years. They performed together for eleven years and released two EPs before splitting in 2002. After reuniting with BottleRock, Reeves' band played alongside megastars like Lizzo, Duran Duran, and Carly Rae Jepsen, all of whom headlined at the Californian festival.

New single in the works

The Canadian actor and his band announced that they have recorded a new single with a video which is also scheduled to be released soon. “So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it,” they told fans. “Can’t wait to share our new music with everyone. It’s the most satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done." The group added, “Thanks again for being so patient with us. We truly have the best, most loyal fans."

This is apparently not the only project that is going to keep the actor's hands full as he will also be filming a new comedy project alongside Jonah Hill for Apple TV+, called 'Outcome'. The film will focus on a Hollywood actor, Reef, who is struggling to accept his past after a bizarre video resurfaces. The movie is expected to come out in early November on the streaming platform. The 'John Wick' actor will also be preparing to reprise his role as John Constantine.

Keanu Reeves declined 'Fast & Furious' offer twice

MEAWW previously reported that Keanu Reeves made the decision to pass on not one, but two installments of the 'Fast & Furious' franchise. He declined the opportunity to portray Aimes, the new leader of The Agency, who deceitfully aligns with the vengeful terrorist Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) to betray Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) in the latest 'Fast X' film.
