Kelsea Ballerini is unapologetically pushing back on her haters for calling her 'soft' after scary onstage incident

BOISE, IDAHO: Kelsea Ballerini claps back at trolls! The country music diva has responded to criticism directed at her for speaking out about safe spaces after being hit in the face by an item thrown from the audience during a recent performance on Wednesday, June 28, in Boise, Idaho. On June 29, Kelsea posted on her Instagram Stories, "a sad, scary world we live in," along with a screenshot of a fan comment that called her "soft" for speaking out.

The 29-year-old elaborated on the scenario in a different post. "Someone threw a bracelet, it hit me in the eyes," she wrote. "And it more so just scared me than hurt me." Even though Kelsea reassured the audience that she was "fine," she added that "we all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown," adding, "That's why I walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue." The singer continued, "That's all I ever want, is for shows to feel like a safe place for us all. I love you and appreciate all of the concern, let's make the last two shows of the heartfirst tour the best yet."

'She's so soft'

In the screenshot of the comments, one person is seen writing, "It's sad that this happens but maybe she should stay true and not go woke." When another remarked, "Stitches in the bar. No stitches. no post," one critic responded, "She's so soft." Kelsea also mentioned over the story, "also just gonna leave this right here."

What happened at Kelsea's concert?

Kelsea was forced to take a brief break from the show on June 28 at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise after a fan threw a bracelet at the singer during a performance of her 2022 single 'If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)'. When she was struck, she put one hand on her face as seen in a video that has been going around on social media. The 'Rolling Out the Welcome Mat' musician briefly continued playing after consulting with her violinist before leaving the stage.

The singer came back and greeted the crowd. As shown in a different video, Kelsea questioned, "Can we just talk about what happened?" "All I care about is keeping everyone safe. If you ever don't feel safe, please let someone around you know." She then added, "If anyone's pushing too much or you just have that gut feeling, just always flag it. Don't throw things. You know?"
