'Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened,' wrote Kesha

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Kesha is finally ready to move on after accusing Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald, of sexual abuse in 2014. Following that incident, Dr Luke filed a defamation lawsuit against her in 2014. But at present, the duo has agreed to resolve the lawsuit before the scheduled trial in July. On Thursday, June 22, they agreed to release public statements on social media regarding the case.

In the statement shared on Instagram, Kesha claimed she is not able to recollect the details of the alleged sexual assault. "Only God knows what happened that night. As I have always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved," the 36-year-old singer wrote.

'I never drugged or assaulted her'

In 2014, Kesha sued Dr Luke alleging that he sexually assaulted her in 2005 after he drugged her and accused him of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse. The Grammy-winning producer then filed a defamation lawsuit the same year after he denied the allegations. The 'Pray' singer's claims were dismissed by a judge in 2016. "While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened," Dr Luke stated.

"I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is Time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well," he explained.

The resolution of the lawsuit comes a month before the trial was set to begin next month. As per the New York Court of Appeals, Dr Luke met the qualifications of a public figure and ruled that he would have to "prove the allegedly defamatory statements were made with ‘actual malice'."

'I got offered my freedom If I were to lie'

Kesha previously claimed that she had to turn down an offer that requested her to retract her sexual assault accusation against Dr Luke in exchange for her freedom. "So. I got offered my freedom If I were to lie. I would have to apologize publicly and say that I never got raped," the 'Shadow' singer claimed in 2016. "This is what happens behind closed doors. I will not take back the truth. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again," she continued.

Talking about her latest album 'Gag Order' which was written based on her troubles over the past few years, she spoke with SELF about the inspiration for creating the work that is her final full-length record of the Kemosabe label founded by Dr Luke. "I had to shed light on the darker sides of what happens in my mind. This was me saying, 'Yeah, I’ve had this self-imposed, implied gag order since I can remember, 'cause I’m still in litigation' ", she said, reported Page Six.
