Graham, who was on the morning program to promote her latest book 'Have I Told You This Already?', talked about how it was being Perry's friend.

"No one made me laugh as hard. I mean, just tears streaming. There was just so much joy being around him and being his friend."

She further talked about Perry's memoir 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing'.

"This last year, he was so proud of the book he wrote and of how many people it touched," she said.

"It was a success that gave him a level of happiness. I hadn't seen him in a really long time, so that's a nice memory," Graham said.

In his 2022 book, Perry shared a picture of Graham resting her head on his shoulder and captioned, "Me and the beautiful Lauren Graham."

The 'Parenthood' alum was shocked to learn the news of her 'Studio 60 on Sunset Trip' co-star's death.

"Completely. I'm still in shock. It's just a really tragic loss, and he leaves his beautiful work behind, and that's something to be thankful for. Again, the book really meant something to him, so it was a really happy year for him," said Graham.

In her 2016 memoir 'Talking As Fast As I Can', Graham shared how Perry became her longtime friend.

"The only bright spot, dude-wise, was at an event where I met Matthew Perry," she wrote.

"He became my longtime Friend Who I Almost But Never Exactly Dated, or FWIABNED," she added.

The duo began to work together in 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip', a short-lived series by Aaron Sorkin. Graham and Perry co-starred in the 2008 film 'Birds of America' and an episode of 'The Odd Couple.'

On October 28, Perry died at his home in Los Angeles. The 'Fools Rush In' actor was found unconscious in a jacuzzi.

He was declared deceased before the arrival of first responders. The autopsy conducted by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner was inconclusive, according to ET Online. The cause of Perry's death has not yet been determined.
