LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Marvel often hires A-list celebrities for their roles, the ones known all over Hollywood, and other times, they take a chance on rising stars. The most recent ‘Black Panther’ film aka ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ served as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, while also introducing a new character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta.
Huerta was quick to climb the ladder as he became a fan favorite in no time, often being labeled as ‘Marvel’s Aquaman’ because of his kingdom underwater. However, the importance of his character goes beyond just surviving underwater, as he was presented as the first indigenous superhero in the MCU. This is why, a ripple of shockwaves has erupted after Huerta has been accused of sexual assault!
Maria Elena Rios speaks up
Rios is a well-known saxophonist and an acid attack survivor, who has opened up against Huerta and accused him of alleged sexual assault. Rios took to Twitter, to talk about a podcast called ‘El Feisbuk de la Malinche’ who did not pay her for her work. In addition, she also highlighted that this wouldn’t be the first time this has happened to her. As Rios speaks up about her previous employer and unpaid efforts, she talks about how they have backed up Huerta in the past and calls him a ‘sexual predator.’
One of her first tweets about Huerta is in Spanish and loosely translates to, “I made it very clear to them when I left their sect that they protect the violent and sexual PREDATOR of @TenochHuerta that they did not publish anything about me. They still went to look for me at a hypocritical ball concert to avoid scandals.” Rios has also taken up the liberty to respond to fans regarding the matter, and it won’t be long before this takes over the internet, especially as Marvel hopes to make Huerta a big part of the franchise.
Huerta’s work
Huerta is best known for his work in the MCU as Namor. He was introduced in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ and very little is known about this celebrity. He makes sure that his private life remains incredibly private. He has previously worked ‘The Forever Purge,’ ‘Narcos: Mexico,’ and ‘Sin Nombre.’ MCU has a lot on its plate with Jonathan Majors controversies, and now Tenoch Huerta has been added to the list!
