On November 18, Dana Carvey, 68, posted a message on Instagram and X that began, 'This is just to say thank you'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dana Carvey, 68, expressed gratitude for the support following the sudden death of his eldest son, Dex, 32, on November 15.

In a heartfelt Instagram and X post, he thanked everyone for the overwhelming love, compassion, and personal stories that he and his wife, Paula Zwagerman, have received during this difficult time.

"We received so many beautiful messages from people who knew Dex. These touched us more than we could ever express in words," he wrote, before revealing his decision to step away from work and social media while he and his family grieve their loss.

"I will be taking a break from work and social media — trying to figure out what life looks like now that we are a family of 3," he wrote. "We will heal the best we can and carry on. Our darling Dex would have wanted it that way."

In his message, Dana Carvey, who shares a son named Thomas, 30, with his wife, concluded with a heartfelt sign-off: "Much Love, Dana."

Carvey's post garnered responses not only from friends and fellow comedians but also fans and followers, reflecting the supportive community surrounding him during the challenging period.
