Mets top prospect Francisco Alvarez will be singing "A Summer Without You" to Scott Boras all season long.

New York Mets top-ranked prospect Francisco Alvarez is changing his representation and changing the vibes: he's dropping Scott Boras in favor of a less distinguished but more modern agency.

On Wednesday, Alvarez announced he was joining Bad Bunny's sports agency, Rimas Sports, co-founded by the acclaimed hip-hop artist and Latin trap singer. Bad Bunny started the agency with Rimas Entertainment CEO Noah Assad and executive Jonathan Miranda last month with the intention of supporting Latin American baseball players in agent management, brand relations, and other services.

Rimas Sports agent William Arroyo will be in charge of Alvarez's representation from now on, and Bad Bunny gets to add yet another young talent to his growing list of players at his up-and-coming agency.

Rimas' Assad described his new venture with Bad Bunny in a statement:

"In the music world, we accomplished success by knowing how to develop talent, helping our clients reach their vision by catering to their unique needs. This new venture is an expansion of that mission as we aim to bring greater representation to the Latin community in the world of sports."

Mets' Francisco Alvarez picks Bad Bunny's agency to represent him

So far, Rimas Sports has already signed Blue Jays' Santiago Espinal, Colorado Rockies' Yonathan Daza, and San Francisco Giants' Wilmer Flores, among others. As far as prospects, the agency picked up New York Mets' Ronny Mauricio, Los Angeles Dodgers' Diego Cartaya, and Giants' Marco Luciano.

Mets' Alvarez will slide into a very talented line-up at Rimas Sports having enjoyed early success in New York in the 2023 season; in 25 games, he's slashed .216/.275/.392 and recorded three homers along with six RBIs.

Bad Bunny, a three-time Grammy-winning artist, has had a huge hand in popularizing Spanish-language music and is now dipping his toes into the world of sports management. The water's been caliente as Bad Bunny seems to have no problem attracting high-profile players and prospects like Alvarez to his agency.

Scott Boras has just been around for way too long. It's high time someone upped the heat and gave him some spicy competition.
