When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds and he was later identified as Michael Brasel

SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA: Michael Brasel, a Minnesota man was shot dead while trying to protect his wife’s car from a break-in on May 6. Around five days later, the authorities arrested a suspected teen shooter on Thursday, May 11, and warned people against gun violence. St Paul Police Chief Axel Henry said, “I will tell you, if you commit gun violence in this city, we are coming, we are gonna find you.” Police have not yet named the suspect.

The Facebook post made by St Paul Police Department read, “Today, the Saint Paul Police Department made an arrest in the murder of Michael Brasel. A 17-year-old male is currently being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.” It also shared the process and agencies involved in the arrest, “From the responding officers to the investigators, to SWAT, to the forensic services and video management units—we’re incredibly proud of everyone who played a role in finding justice for Mr Brasel. The case is still active and ongoing, and we cannot release more information at this time,” according to Law&Crime.

'Victim was pronounced dead at the hospital'

Earlier, authorities told that they received a stress call from a neighbor on early Saturday after Brasel was shot multiple times, “Just before 7:30 am, a 911 caller reported that their neighbor had been shot on the 2300 block of Chilcombe Avenue. When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.” “Officers secured the scene and called for Saint Paul Fire medics, who transported the victim to Hennepin County Medical Center. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital,” the department added.

'He murdered a guy on his front stairs'

Brasel's friend Andrew McNattin felt the alleged killer’s action was not of a juvenile, “It’s hard to think about somebody sitting there for 60, 70 years as a 17-year-old, I’ll give you that. But it’s also really hard for me to think about what his actions mean for that specific family. He murdered a guy on his front stairs at 7:30 in the morning on a Saturday. That changes the ball game completely.”
