MrBeast’s former editor Matt Turner accused the YouTuber of having one of the most 'toxic' working environments

MrBeast’s former editor Matt Turner accused the YouTuber of having one of the most “toxic” working environments. The information was discovered as a consequence of a New York Times investigation, which includes questioning more than 11 former employees.

In 2018, in a series of now-deleted tweets, Turner said, “That was the most mentally draining time of my life. I was yelled at, bullied, called mentally retarded and replaceable by MrBeast every day. Being in tears and having mental breakdowns day after day is difficult, and after a while became too much. After every editing mistake I made, I was made to feel like an absolute idiot, even if the content wasn’t real. No credit was given unless a video I edited got credited to someone else.”

‘I do apologize’

The Massachusetts native expressed regret to people who were ‘offended’ by his account of serving as MrBeast's ‘main’ editor and cinematographer. “I just wanted to say, 'Hey, I worked for this guy and it wasn't great. But, that's it! And it became video series and Drama Alert and John Scarce and all of these drama channels picking up this story that never was my intention,” he said.

He added, “So, if I offended anyone and talking about an editor's... job, which was my own. I was his editor. I was his main editor and videographer. If anyone was offended by me saying that that wasn't the best experience, well then I do apologize.” After the huge uproar, Matt Turner came back online and restored his Twitter account in 2022. He participated in the same year's season of the well-known reality television program Big Brother 24.

What did MrBeast say?

When Matt Turner stated that he was leaving MrBeast's crew in 2018, that is when it all began. Turner said in a string of since-deleted social media postings from October 5, 2018, that the YouTuber's crew was "forced to sign NDA (non-disclosure agreement)" and that they had been convinced that working for Jimmy was their "glory days."

Later, in response to the accusations, MrBeast said that he had given Turner a $10,000 severance payment and secured him employment at SoaR Gaming. Matt Turner expressed similar views in an interview with the New York Times. He asserted that because he worked for Mr. Beast, he was not given credit for the majority of his contributions.

Numerous well-known YouTubers shared their opinions, which generated a lot of attention to the problem. Disputed figure and presenter of Drama Alert Daniel ‘Keemstar’ commented on the debate, saying, “I just find it very strange that he's coming out, saying all this negative stuff about MrBeast, when a year ago, when he actually left, he uploaded a video saying, 'It was the greatest time of his life.”

Later, Keemstar claimed to have talked with MrBeast, who refuted the claims of a hazardous workplace. The benefactor disclosed that he offered Matt Turner a new position at SoaR Gaming along with a $10,000 severance payout.
