The Golden State Warriors should reportedly retain star forward Draymond Green once free agency begins, as he wants to retire with Steph Curry, per the latest NBA Rumors.

The Warriors should look much different next season with Chris Paul coming off the bench, but the starting unit could come with a similar vibe.

Draymond Green, who will be a free agent this summer, is expected to remain with the team on a three-year contract. Marc Stein of the New York Times reports that both sides are optimistic of an agreement.

Green's name has been floated with teams like the Detroit Pistons (he's from Michigan) and even the Dallas Mavericks via a sign-and-trade. Of course, the Los Angeles Lakers can never be discounted, as Green and LeBron James recently went on vacation together.

However, Draymond leaving the Warriors always felt a bit farfetched. He's spent his entire career in Golden State for a reason, and now with Jordan Poole out of the picture, there isn't much holding back a reunion.

NBA Rumors: Warriors confident they will sign Draymond Green

Per Marc Stein's substack, Green is expected to return to Golden State on a three-year deal that could pay him upwards of $100 million, if not more.

"I continue to hear nothing but strong confidence emanating from the Bay Area that an agreement on a multi-year deal for Green to stay right where he's always been is forthcoming.

(A three-year deal, league sources say, is a popular current projection for the 33-year-old.)"

The Warriors hope to make at least one more run at an NBA title. It would be the fifth championship for this core. However, it won't come easy.

The Western Conference is as tough as ever, with the Denver Nuggets winning the NBA title this past season. Meanwhile, the Lakers, Phoenix Suns and more are expected to make major upgrades this offseason.

Keeping Green around is a huge step in the right direction, should the two sides agree to a new deal.
