Dalvin Cook's next destination may have just been leaked. The running back's agency was reportedly spotted down south, where Cook's agent could be striking a deal as we speak.

Dalvin Cook remains a free agent this offseason — but perhaps not for long. The top running back was released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this summer having been usurped by Alexander Mattison on the depth chart.

The Vikings ultimately didn't want to hold onto Cook's expensive salary and dumped him into the free agent pool where he's drawn mild to lukewarm interest from various teams.

Currently, a host of AFC East teams appear to be in the running — per oddsmakers, at least — to land the six-year back.

The New York Jets may want an insurance plan behind Breece Hall, who's recovering from an ACL injury, especially since their window for winning a Super Bowl is narrowing. The New England Patriots have flirted more with a different free agent, DeAndre Hopkins, but it's not inconceivable to imagine a pairing of Hopkins and Cook in the Northeast. Plus, Cook has publicly said he'd like to play with Hopkins in the future.

What about the Miami Dolphins? Their fans went into a frenzy a month ago reacting to something Dalvin Cook posted on his Instagram story. Well, this time, it's his agent's Instagram story posted on Thursday that's causing ripples in the waters.

Dalvin Cook to Miami Dolphins rumors gets more traction

Take a look below:

To be honest, it's not much. It's a totally black background with only the location tag of Miami, Florida, and two pairs of wide eyes.

But to the NFL community, this is the exact kind of thing that starts a speculative wildfire.

Cook's talents as a veteran running back are well-known across the league, and anybody with even a mildly underperforming running back room should consider taking a flyer on Cook. Now, Mike McDaniel wasn't born yesterday, but he's no doubt aware of the dynamic impact a player like Cook could have in Miami.

The Dolphins already have their tag-team duo of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. in the backfield — even if Miami made a go for Cook, where would that leave Mostert and Wilson?

A logjam at running back plus the money question are two issues in Miami's Dalvin Cook dilemma that would presumably get solved in their own time.

First things first: the Dolphins have to decide whether or not they want to take the plunge on Cook. Maybe all they need is a slight little push, which is where Cook's agent comes in…
