Amazon Fresh isn’t just for Prime members now.

This week Amazon announced that it’s making its grocery delivery and pickup service available to everyone, regardless of Prime membership, in the cities where Amazon Fresh operates. Non-Prime members will be able to place orders for groceries just like their Prime counterparts.

Soon, Amazon plans to expand the service to include grocery delivery and pickup from Whole Foods Market as well. There are currently Whole Foods locations in more than 3,500 cities and towns across the United States, all of which will offer two-hour grocery delivery and pickup options for Prime customers as well as those without the membership.

If you are an Amazon Prime member, you’ll have an advantage over non-Prime members in that you’ll be able to get discounts on or free delivery depending on the cost of your order.

Amazon recently dropped the amount of money Prime customers need to spend in order to get free delivery.

In February the company raised the threshold for free delivery to $150 per order, but in late October the company dropped that spending limit to $100.

That $100 bar is; however, a bit higher than it used to be. Previously customers were able to get free grocery delivery provided they spent either $35 or $50, depending on their location.

Currently orders between $50-$100 cost $6.95 to be delivered and orders under $50 come with a $9.95 delivery fee.

A Prime membership currently runs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. If you’re not currently a Prime member but anticipate using the company’s grocery delivery service you might come out cheaper springing for that Prime membership, provided you’re hitting that $100 threshold with your orders.
