WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Paige Spiranac triumphs over online hate through her attire choices.
Paige Spiranac, the renowned golf influencer celebrated for her bold and revealing outfits both on and off the golf course, recently revealed how she tackled online hate by experimenting with her attire.
Paige Spiranac's online hate struggle
In an open conversation on the 'Twin Talk' podcast featuring Haley and Hanna Cavinder, Paige Spiranac recounted a period when she aimed to establish herself as a professional golfer.
During this time, she made the decision to combat the relentless negative comments she received.
Even though she wore a complete turtleneck and leggings, providing full coverage from head to toe, she continued to receive criticism for her attire.
“I wanted to be taken seriously as a professional golfer and no matter what I did, no matter what I posted, I would get hate,” Spiranac said on this week's Betr Media podcast entitled 'Twin Talk.'
Paige Spiranac recalled a time when she sought to gain recognition as a professional golfer and decided to counteract the incessant hate comments she received.
Sharing a photo of herself in a black turtleneck and maroon leggings on a golf course, Paige remarked, "When that happened, I just said, OK, well I'm going to do what I want to do, and I'm going to wear what I want to wear, and if people like it, great, and if they dislike it, OK great."
The Cavinder twins, who achieved top earnings in the realm of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) while at the University of Miami, praised Spiranac for her approach to managing the situation.
The conversation delved into the challenges of dealing with negative attention while being in the spotlight and maintaining a significant presence on social media.
Paige Spiranac emphasized the importance of not taking negative opinions personally, acknowledging that social media showcases only a fraction of her life.
Spiranac stated, “That’s why you can’t control what other people say or the judgment that they have because they see a small little portion of your life.”
“There are also days where I will leave the house and wear sweats and my hair is up and I’m wearing no makeup,” she continued.
Spiranac added, “There are different facets of my personality, which I can’t always show on social media, and so I try to not take it so personal when somebody comes at me in a very negative way when they don’t know me.”
Paige Spiranac's family's love and support fuel her social media journey
She made it clear that if her family ever voiced concerns about her social media posts, she would contemplate dialing back her activities.
However, to this day, her family's steadfast support keeps her confident in the decisions she makes.
Speaking on the 'Twin Talk' Spiranac said, “My family is so supportive and they love who I am and they love what I do so I don’t really care.”
“So I’ve learned into that because that’s how I feel most confident,” she added.
During her journey, Paige Spiranac has consistently tackled negative comments about her body and fashion choices on social media. She highlighted the irony of receiving conflicting criticisms about her appearance in a single day, emphasizing that her life is not a "Build-a-Bear workshop."
“It’s crazy I can be told I look too fat, too skinny, too plastic, too old, wearing too much makeup, not enough makeup, boobs too big, butt not big enough, too pale, hair too blonde, not blonde enough all in one day. Guys it’s not a Build-a-Bear workshop over here. Calm it down,” Spiranac wrote on X in 2021.
