Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a few tricks up his sleeve to beat the Eagles in the 2023 Super Bowl.

During a dead period in the NFL offseason, it's never too early to think about the greatness of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes took home his second Super Bowl ring in a thrilling 38-35 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles back in February. Mahomes put together a clean performance, completing 21-of-27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

It is well-documented that Mahomes' ability is one of the best in sports, but what some fail to recognize is his innovative and forward-thinking approach to football that sets him apart from his peers.

According to an article from Sports Illustrated's Connor Orr, he revealed a unique way Mahomes bonded with his teammates ahead of the Chiefs' 2022 season.

Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes helped skirt offseason rules to gel with weapons

Mahomes executed a creative idea, or better yet, a hack, to get back into the flow of things. With permission from coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Mahomes invited his entire offense to Fort Worth, TX, which is where the former Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback resides in the offseason. While there, Mahomes unofficially began training camp a bit early, just not with his coaching staff.

Travis Kelce, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Justin Watson were all part of Mahomes' 75-to-90-minute daily route-running regimen, which eventually paid dividends as the Chiefs finished the regular season 14-3 and won the AFC West divisional title for the seventh-straight season.

Entering 2023, the Chiefs look to contend for another Super Bowl title once again and will try to become the first team in nearly 20 years to win consecutive Super Bowl championships. Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were the last to do so, winning in 2003 and 2004 during a run that saw the Patriots win three titles in a four-year span.
